Obituary of George Bacon

George Bacon, age 91 of Sweet Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2020 at his home. He was born on November 19, 1928 in Philadelphia and was the son of the late George Bacon and Eleanor and Norman Benson. He and his wife, Beverly raised their four children in Audubon, NJ, and later retired to Sweet Valley. He served in the Navy as a Yeoman 1st Class, serving 2 years in Japan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid letter writer, enjoyed gardening and his pets. George was a member of Forty Fort United Methodist Church and later attended Sweet Valley Church of Christ. He was a proud Rotarian since 1972. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Dwane. Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, the former Beverly Deets; son: David and his wife, Liane; daughters: Susan Smith and her husband, Dan; Denise Moskaluk; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Sweet Valley Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM, at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., Corner of Routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek.
