Obituary of Lowell Ray Patton

Lowell R. Patton, age 67 of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 30, 2017 upon arrival at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mr. Patton was born in Noxen on February 16, 1949 and was the son of the late Franklin and Ruth Casterline Patton. Lowell graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1967 and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a Lab Tech at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for 20 years. He attended Bangor Theological Seminary in Maine and received his Master's Degree in Divinity. He ministered at the Towanda Universalist Church for several years and then retired as a behavioral specialist consultant for Northern Tier Counseling. Lowell enjoyed working on computers, his garden and house projects. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Donald Patton. He is survived by his wife, the former Paulette Lord; son, Matthew Patton and his wife Leslie of Athens; daughters, Emily Scrivener of Sayre and Katie Patton of Sayre; step-son, Guy Zerfoss, IV of Wilkes-Barre; step-daughters, Trisha Waltman of Kingston, Bev Zerfoss of Trucksville and Amanda Burke of Harveys Lake; brothers, Carlton Patton of Greensburg, KY, Osbert Patton of Dalton and Steve Patton of Centermoreland; sisters, Julia Kovalick of Mehoopany, Louisa Clark of Beaumont, Sarah McGovern of Noxen and Marlene Belles of Mehoopany; grandchildren, McKenna, Delanie, Raegan and Ashley; 8 step-grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. Friends may call 5:00 PM -7:00 PM on Friday, February 3 at Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. As per Lowell's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
