Obituary of Richard Tattersall

Richard Tattersall, age 83 of Wilkes-Barre and Harveys Lake, passed away at the home of his daughter Kathy Evans, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Tattersall was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 29, 1930 and was the son of the late James and Harriet Moreau Tattersall.
Richard was self-employed his whole life always following a new adventure. He was the Proprietor of the Lakeside Inn at Harveys Lake. He also owned Tattersall Construction in Wilkes-Barre for many years. Richard was a member of the Alderson United Methodist Church, Harveys Lake. His love of the Lake was unsurpassed. Richard was known for his generosity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael; sisters, Nancy Dare and Katherine "DeDe" Pedersen; brother, James "Buddy" Tattersall.
Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Romayne Hearst; sons, Richard of Warrior Run, William of Wilkes-Barre, and Irving of Nanticoke; daughters, Michell'e Boice of Harveys Lake, Sandra Dobrowolski of Sweet Valley, and Kathy Evans of Wilkes-Barre; brother, William Tattersall of Falls Church, VA; sister, Harriet "Sis" Burns of Florida; 25 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Lay Leader, Barbara Wall officiating.
Friends may call 6:00 - 9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
