Obituary of Carl Lawrence Gordon

Carl "Joe" Gordon, age 84 of Pikes Creek, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at the Hospice Of The Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He was born at Pikes Creek on April 16, 1937 and was the son of the late Joseph Lawrence and Ada Virginia Traver Gordon. Carl graduated from Laketon High School in 1955. He retired from Inter Metro, Wilkes-Barre and then went on to become caretaker of Maple Grove Cemetery. Carl was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and growing various fruits and vegetables. Carl was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-granfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Bette Darrow, Shirley Kibler and Ada Kinney; brothers, Burton and Eugene Gordon; grandson, Nathan Searles. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine; sons, Greg and his wife Ardonna and Jeff Gordon; daughter, Lynn Gordon; sister, Joyce Kuhn and her husband Charlie; 6 grandhcildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 am from the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621, with Rev. W. James Pall, officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
