Obituary of Clifford Jerry Foss

Clifford J. Foss, age 79, of Swiftwater, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his home. He was born in Kingston on June 13, 1941. Known as Sam to his friends, he was the son of the late Clifford Knight and Mary Slatky Foss. He graduated from Westmoreland High School and served in the Navy aboard the USS Harwood. He operated Sam's Plumbing and Heating, Mountainhome, PA for many years. He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Cheryl Foss Kobal. Sam is survived by his companion, Annie VanLoan of Swiftwater; daughters, Angel Woodcock and husband Michael of Spotsylvania, VA, Sandra Werley and husband Lanny of Leesport, and Mary Foss-Ingram of Brickerville; brother Kollin and wife Eileen; sister, Debbie; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Kenneth Brown, Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Township.
