Calvin J. Tinsley, age 73 of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Dallas on February 10, 1948 and was the son of the late Leslie and Alice Eipper Tinsley. Calvin graduated from Dallas High School and then enlisted in the US Navy where he served during the Vietnam and Persian Gulf eras. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoy cooking. Calvin was a member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, the former Sue Branch; daughters, Jessica Swartwood and Mia Ganoe and her fiancé Jeff Maurer; grandchildren, Jamie Ganoe, Chad Strohl, Courtney Ganoe, Craig, Cassandra and Cameron Kepp, Aaliyah, Caiden and Damon Swartwood; 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Chad Strohl, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
