Obituary of Ruth Marie Searfoss

Ruth M. Searfoss, age 95, a resident of the Meadows Nursing home for the last 10 years, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was born in Loyalville on March 16, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Marvin and Emily Swire Scott. Ruth graduated from Dallas High School. She was a former member of the Northumberland Baptist Church, Centermoreland. She quilted at Fellowship Church with their Hugs Quilting Ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Searfoss who passed away in 2001, brothers, Arthur, Paul and Marvin Scott; and grandson, Jesse Searfoss. She is survived by sons, Clarence "Bo" and his wife Linda of Noxen, Arthur and his wife Jackie of Tunkhannock, Herbert and his wife Becky of Illinois, Leonard and his wife Suzy of Cedar Falls, IA; daughters, Hazel Chase and her husband Robert of Bowman's Creek and Barbara Franzetti and her husband Carl of Middlesex, NJ; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date from the Fellowship Church, Dallas. Private interment will be in the Orcutt's Grove Cemetery Dymond Section, Noxen. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Memorial donations in her name can be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at the Meadows Nursing Center for their compassionate care given to their mother for the last 10 years.
