Obituary of Ruth Evelyn Nygren

It is with sadness that we mourn the passing of Ruth Evelyn Nygren, age 93, formerly of Sweet Valley, who passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was born July 18, 1927 in Forty Fort, and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Alice Gingell Fitser. Ruth graduated from Wyoming High School. She was a licensed beautician and a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church. She married her late husband, Robert N. Nygren, Sr. on March 5, 1949. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Daniel and Robert Fitser; and sister, Shirley Rozelle. She is survived by sons and their wives, Robert Nygren, Jr. (Carol Hicks), Dale Nygren (Brenda Hadsall), and David Nygren (Faith Maffei); grandchildren and their spouses, Cara Nygren (Ruslan Pryadun), Eric Nygren (Jacque Burke) and Daniel Nygren (Becky Price); great grandchildren: Analee, Ean, Britta, Carlie, Anya, and Samuel. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Mercy Center Activities Group, 301 Lake Street, Dallas, PA 18612. The family would like to thank all the departments and staff at the Mercy Center for their compassionate care given to their mother.
