Obituary of David Alfred McRoy

David Alfred McRoy, age 77 of Harveys Lake, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born October 25, 1943, he was the son of the late Floyd Sr. and Bernadine Hummel McRoy. He worked at American Asphalt Paving for 54 years as a heavy equipment mobilization technician. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by sisters, Ethel Hontz, Ruth Jackson, Joyce Youngblood, Evelyn Muscial; and brother, Wayne McRoy. David is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Ann Gush sisters, Doris Bonk, Beverly Elliott, and Phyllis Yoh; brother, Floyd McRoy Jr.; children, Christine Gush, Valerie and Gary Weaver, David and Jane McRoy, Jason and Joann McRoy, Tracy McRoy and companion Darius Yavorski, Andrew McRoy and fiancé Annette Price, Gregory McRoy, and Katrina McRoy; grandchildren, Shila McRoy and companion Scott Alfonso Jr., Desarae McRoy and companion, Josh Pursel, Gary Weaver Jr., Jacob Weaver, Brittany Koval, Stephen Koval, Jason McRoy Jr., Justin McRoy, Frank Price, and Andrew McRoy Jr.; great-grandchildren, Saraya McRoy, Logan McRoy, Tatum McRoy, and Silas Alfonso; multiple nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L. D. Reed, Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
