Obituary of Robert Thomas Whispell

Robert Thomas Whispell, age 57 of Archbald, passed Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. Mr. Whispell was born in Wilkes-Barre on October 9, 1955 and was the son of the late Joseph and Edna Derhammer Whispell. Robert attended Dallas Senior High School and graduated from trucking school in the 1980's. He was employed as a truck driver for American Asphalt Co., Shavertown. He retired as a truck driver from the Wesley Village in Jenkins Township. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Mr. Whispell was preceded in death by his wife Gale Ann Boyer Whispell, a son, Jeramy Robert Whispell, and a brother, Kenneth Whispell. Surviving are, daughter: Heather Hudak and her husband Joseph of Jessup; brothers: Carl Whispell and his wife Polly of Harveys Lake, and Richard Whispell and his wife Betty of Vernon; sisters: Beverly Sowers and her husband Mark of North Carolina, Joann Newell and her husband Richard of Tunkhannock, Edna Hoyt of Dallas, Marie Martin of Florida, and Mary Havenstrite of Moscow; grandchildren: Brandon, Jerry, and Nicole Hudak of Archbald; many cousins, nieces, nephews and canine companion Peanut Butter. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Paul Bradly of the Peckville Assembly of God Church, officiating. Friends may call Friday at the funeral home from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
