Obituary of Robert William Rosengrant

Robert William Rosengrant, 61, of Benton, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. He was born on July 4, 1959 and was the son of Robert and the late Beverly Rosengrant. Growing up in Shavertown, Bob enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, hunting, rock climbing, boxing, karate, Boy Scouts, racing dirt bikes, motorcycles, and getting into any trouble he could with his brother and childhood friends. He went on to graduate from Westside Area Vocational Technical School. During his life, Bob learned many skills but not limited to, autobody, mechanic, carpentry, wood working, HVAC plumbing, farrier, and anything else you could throw at him. After graduating, Bob met his wife of 16 years, Kimberly. Together they made and shared countless memories cherished by their sons, Derek and Corey. Later in life, Bob passionately helped his partner, Katie, run Braces Stables. A cowboy at heart, you'd always find Bob on the craziest horse, his favorite being Black Jack. Whether he was a farrier, giving trail rides, or just doing the barn chores, he always had a smile, for horses were in his blood. At the end of the day, kicking back and enjoying a cold one around the campfire with family and friends was among his favorite places to be. Bob is preceded in death by his partner, Katie Brace; mother, Beverly Rosengrant; and ex-wife, Kim Martini. He will be greatly missed by his father, Robert Rosengrant; two sons, Corey Rosengrant and Derek Rosengrant; wife, Alex; two grandchildren, Tyler and Maria Rosengrant; and brother, Alan Rosengrant. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and too many friends to count. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 7:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Jack Griffiths, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
