Obituary of Joan Louise Baur

Joan Louise Baur, age 81 of the Meadows Apartments, Dallas, passed away December 13, 2020 at the Gardens at East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Berwick on July 26, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Josephine Fitzer Allen. Joan graduated from Lake Noxen High School, Class of 1957 before receiving a Bachelors Degree in Humanities from West Chester University. She was employed by Boscov's in Wilkes-Barre, and retired in 1992 from Smith Miller Architects in Kingston, working as a computer operator. She enjoyed photography, gardening, growing orchids, and loved her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by brothers, Harry "Jim", Jr. and John Allen. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Baur and wife Joan C. of Dallas; daughter, Julie Ann Baur and husband Ambrose of Harveys Lake; grandchildren, Michelle Hayes, Matthew Meletsky, Miranda Baur; and great-grandchildren, Erin and Grace Hayes. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
