Ada Eliza Masters Petroski, 91, of Sweet Valley, passed away on November 9, 2020.
Ada was born in a Log Cabin in Sweet Valley on January 20, 1929 to Basil Alton and Vera Delphine Whitesell Masters.
As a child, Ada contracted Polio and was sent to the Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia for surgery and strengthening therapy for five years. Ada never let the effects of Polio stop her from enjoying life to the fullest. She loved traveling and spending time with her family.
After graduating from Shickshinny High School in 1947, she traveled to Kansas City, MO where she received a Certificate as a Flight Attendant with Northwestern Airlines. When she returned home, she worked many years in the garment industry.
Ada is proceeded in death by her husband, Henry (Barney) Petroski. Ada and Barney were married on March 6, 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina. She is also proceeded in death by brothers, Carl, Charles and Glenn Masters. Sisters, Reva Eck, Elva Wheelwright, Patricia Chapin and Linda Yurko.
Ada is survived by daughters, Debra and Michael Demiter, Denise and Willard Cilvik. Grandchildren, Willard J. and Sarah Cilvik, Matthew and Stacey Cilvik and Robert Cilvik. Great-grandchildren Adison Pearl and Benjamin Davis Cilvik. Grandpuppies Stubs and Sophie. Brothers Dale and Robert Masters.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Twp., with Pastor W. James Pall of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 5876 Main Rd., Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kadima Lakeside for the wonderful care they provided our mother in the last year of her life.
