Obituary of Phyllis Evelyn Montross

Phyllis Langston Montross, age 82 of Monroe Twp., passed away peacefully Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. She was born in Noxen on April 27, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Sterling and Ethel Hummel Kocher. Phyllis graduated from Laketon High School in 1956. She was employed by Commonwealth Telephone Co., Natona Mills, Encon, Sallie Mae and Lake Elementary School. Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother to her 3 children and 5 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Oscar Langston and George Montross and brother, Luther Kocher. Phyllis is survived by sons, Timothy Langston (Beth) of Mountain Top and Tony Langston (Susan) of Mertztown; daughter, Teresa Everetts of Monroe Twp.; sister, Vida Holmes of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Langston, Joshua, Ashley and Britney Everetts; step-son, Alan Montross; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Kenneth Brown of the Noxen United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours.
