Obituary of Daniel Adolph Samson

Daniel A. Samson, age 73, passed away at his home at Harveys Lake on October 29, 2012 with his loving wife, Carole, by his side. Dan was born on July 17, 1939 in Klipeda, Lithuania to the late Adolf and Margaret Stankys Samson. Mr. Samson was raised in Fanwood, NJ where he attended local schools. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Dan owned and operated Cardan Automotive in the Dunellen/Piscataway section of New Jersey. Dan and his wife Carole moved to Harveys Lake in 1988, where he became the Zoning Officer for Harveys Lake Borough. Mr. Samson was also a member of the Harveys Lake American Legion 967. Dan is survived by his wife of 34 years, the former Carole Mergo. He is also survived by his daughters: Suzi and her husband, Joe Siddons of Alburtis, Julie of Alburtis, and Marcy and her husband Jamie Abbs of Katy, TX; son: Kenneth Samson and his companion Jennifer Nelson of Washington; sisters: Margie and her husband Dick Cuthberton of Lake Barrington, IL, Karen and her husband David Brucker of Paso Robles, CA; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, several aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
