Obituary of Ronald Albert Perlis

Ronald Joseph Albert Perlis, age 65, of Lake Silkworth passed away with his family by his side on Monday, October 29, 2012, in hospice at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Perlis was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 6, 1947, to the late Joseph and Helen (Wentko) Perlis. He graduated from St. Vincent's High School, Plymouth, and became a licensed barber, later serving in the U.S. Navy. Soon after returning from the Navy, he pursued a career in the restaurant field as a business owner, along with his brother, Mark, and brother-in-law, Joseph Costello, establishing III Guys Pizzeria & Restaurant Inc. in Dallas, Mountaintop and Wilkes-Barre, which is in its 38th year of operation. He was also co-owner of Rocket Enterprises Trucking, which allowed him to travel all over the country.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Maria Borkowski, son, Jarrett and fiance, Jolene Frawley; daughter, Janelle Jacob and husband, Barry; grandchildren Jared, Adyson, Avary, and Emeryson; sister, Debra Costello and husband Joseph; brother, Mark and wife Tassie along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of Lake Silkworth.
Ronald was loved by many and will be sadly missed and never forgotten by his family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, route 29, Lake Silkworth, with Rev. Richard Fox officiating.
Friends may call Friday from 6 PM - 8 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in his name to Lake Silkworth Ambulance Association, 1933 State Route 29, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621 or the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
