Obituary of William Allen Vollrath

William A. Vollrath, age 74 of Harveys Lake, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at home, following an ongoing battle with COPD.
Mr. Vollrath was born in Trucksville on December 1, 1937 and was the son of the late William and Margaret Brown Vollrath.
William attended West Moreland High School and was the owner/operator of William Vollrath Trucking where he was contracted by Bertels Can Company, Hanover Industrial Estates. Mr. Vollrath was a member of the Masonic Lodge #231 in Dallas, the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, was a Shriner, and was also active in the Irem Temple transportation unit for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Mae Titus; daughters: Pam Kidd and her husband Allen, Kimberly Shaver and her husband Randy, both of Harveys Lake; grandchildren: Sarah Kidd, Kyle Kidd and his wife Amber, and William and Randi Shaver, all of Harveys Lake.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 12:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, with Rev. L.D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM- 12:00PM prior to the service.
A private interment will follow the service at the Bloomindale Cemetery, Ross Township.
