Maureen, Megan, Sarah- you have my deepest sympathies, from the bottom of my heart. You know I love Katie like one of my own- such a beautiful, bat shit crazy, loving, wise beyond her years, deep, one of a kind girl. She left us all much too soon and left us reeling, with an empty spot in our hearts. I don’t know how Gabi is going to make it without her best friend- but I told her to just talk to her- I know she’s listening. Katie and Gabi share a special bond- one that goes way beyond friendship- from having the same terrifying dream on the same night- though they were hundreds of miles apart, to events that happened the day Katie left us- these two are connected at a much deeper level than anyone would know.
From the very first moment we saw this little girl hiding behind a tree watching us at the barn- she just clicked, connected with us like it had always been, like it was meant to be. Love is a funny thing, you think Life is good and you love your family and then someone comes along and your love just grows- that’s what Katie did to us all, she touched our hearts- we had no choice, not a chance- she just forced her way in, refusing to have it any other way! It was the greatest honor of my life having Katie be my daughter’s best friend, and being a sometimes mother to her, and her calling me Aunt Deb- I’ve never had a greater gift.
She forever changed my life, Ill never look at anything the same- Harry Potter, ketchup, Hillside milkshakes made with chocolate milk, Ole Greg, Did you ever drink Bailey’s from a shoe?, Noxen Rattlesnake Roundup and creepy old men, telling me the stories of she and Gabi sneaking out of the house at night while I thought they were safe and sleeping in the next room....she has no excuse not to plan out our next set of zany adventures for when we all meet again and write our next chapters. This will happen, this is definitely NOT the end. All we need is patience and love. She’s watching us- let’s live our lives to the fullest like she would expect, till we meet again. I love you Katie❤️all my love forever! ~Aunt Deb

My deepest sympathy for the entire Cole/Houssock family. I was particularly touched by kaitlyns tribute, specifically her love of laughter. That quality is such a gift. I was struck by the memories of Uncle Steve, Aunt Harriet, Nancy, and particularly Deloris and Alice who could have been their own comedy team. What a fine thing to pass to children and grandchildren. My dad' and Uncle Steve' family always shared a bond based on laughter. Please accept our deepest condolences on behalf of my dad' s (Uncle Mickey and Aunt Catherine's) family
