Obituary of Ruth Louise Sheppard

On Monday December 24, 2018, Ruth Sheppard peacefully passed away at the Meadows Nursing Home, in Dallas after a long illness. Ruth was a loving wife, mother and homemaker and was known for her many talents. She was an artist in the mediums of oils, pastels and watercolors. Her sewing and cooking skills were truly amazing. She was an avid volunteer – garden club, schools, swim teams, hospitals, ballet and San Xavier Indian Reservation. She was preceded in death by her husband William Sheppard. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Sheppard, Stephen Sheppard and Bruce Sheppard and her daughters, Lisa Shipman and Lora Spencer and her grandchildren, Mark (Andrew) Spencer, Blake Spencer, Geoffrey Sheppard and Elizabeth Shipman. She will forever be remembered by her extended family and her many friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2018 at 11 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor W. James Pall of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lake Twp. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N Franklin St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
