Obituary of Mary Catherine Manzoni

Mary "Bootsie" Catherine Manzoni, age 75 of Dallas, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 18, 1943 at the family home in Jackson Twp. and was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Alice Julia McNally Manzoni. Mary graduated from Lake-Lehman High School and continued her education at Wilkes-Barre Business College. Her career expanded through the years, working for various businesses, law firms and colleges. Mary's last employment was with Penn State University Cooperative Extension. She enjoyed spending time with her former classmates and with her card club. Mary also loved cats and thoroughly enjoyed her cat, Zoro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Edward and Francis; sister, Anna; brothers-in-law, Sidney Fielding and David Lee; sister-in-law, Agnes Manzoni; niece, Donna Royer. Mary is survived by her siblings, Grace Fielding, John Manzoni and his wife, Margaret Ann, Alfred Manzoni and his wife Betty and Alice Lee; 17 nieces and nephews; 24 great-nieces and nephews and 5 great grandnieces. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:30 am from the Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, PA 18612 with Rev. Daniel Toomey, officiating. Visitation will be from 09:15 AM - 10:15 AM prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. A special thanks to her niece, Marie Manzoni and nephews, Mark and Butch Manzoni, for providing her with such great care.
