Obituary of William Albert Sheppard

William Albert Sheppard, age 88 of Sweet Valley, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mr. Sheppard was born in Wilkes-Barre on February 10, 1930 and was the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Griffiths Sheppard. William resided in both Tucson, AZ and Thayne, WY for many years. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft Co. in Tucson for many years. He found great joy as an accomplished woodworker. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Louise nee Mead; sons, Dennis Evan Sheppard and his wife Gerlinde of Kenefic, OK, Stephen Eduard Sheppard and his wife Celta of Tucson, AZ and Bruce Alan Sheppard and his wife Tina of Cartwright, OK; daughters, Lisa Louise Shipman and her husband Mark of Libertyville, IL and Lora Lynn Spencer and her husband Mark of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Geoffrey Alan Sheppard of Tucson, AZ, Blake William Spencer of Spartansburg, SC and Elizabeth Ann Shipman of Libertyville, IL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor W. James Pall of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
