Obituary of Ruby Dolores Williams

Ruby Williams, age 83 of Shavertown, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2018 at home. Mrs. Williams was born in Williamsport on September 18, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Joe and Alissa Root Shrey. Ruby was a devoted wife and mother who took pride in her family and home. She loved her grandsons and all her great-grandchildren. If someone was in need, Ruby was always ready to help. She will be missed by lifelong friend, Faye Evans, and her entire family especially her daughter, JoAnn. Ruby was an avid animal lover, camper and loved traveling with the Senior Travel Club. Her and her husband spent their summers at their home in Shavertown and wintered in Silver Springs, FL. The family will be comforted knowing she is now with her son, Rob. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Edward Robert Williams, Jr. who passed away in 1984. Ruby is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward Robert Williams, Sr.; daughter, JoAnn Brown of Shavertown; grandchildren, Dennis Brown, Adam Brown and his fiancé Stephanie Hall, and Spring and Edward Williams of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Sean, Brandon and Kaleb Brown, Ivy, Hailey and Zack Chamberlain, Kayden Dollick and Tyler Williams. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 474 Yalick Rd, Dallas, PA 18612.
