Obituary of Rose Marie Hoover

Rose Hoover, age 85 of Lehman Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at home, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. Hoover was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 23, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Hudock Yatsko. Rose graduated from the former Laketon High School in 1951. She and her late husband, Donald, owned and operated a dairy farm in Lehman Twp. for many years. Rose was the secretary at Hoover and Milbrodt Excavating and later started her own sign business for construction trades, truckers, police and fire companies and local municipalities until June 30, 2016. She loved working in her flower garden and enjoyed keeping busy canning the fruits of her labor from her vegetable garden and fruit trees. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Donald Hoover, brothers, Joseph Yatsko, Jr. and George Yatsko. Rose is survived by nephew, William Sorber, Sr. of Lehman; several nieces including, Diane Hoover of Dallas; great-nephew, William Sorber, Jr. of Lehman. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with family friend, Mr. Jim Moore, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hoover Farm Cemetery, Lehman Twp.
