Obituary of Florence Marie Turner

Florence Turner, age 93 of Noxen, formerly of Tunkhannock, went to her new home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock.
Mrs. Turner was born January 8, 1919 in Vernon, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Evadne Mae Sickler DuBoice.
She attended grammar school at both Vernon and Dallas.
Florence was employed by Penny Ruff's Store in Noxen and the Noxen Movie Theater, as a ticket agent, in her early years. She was later employed by Bocar Manufacturing in Tunkhannock and the former Linear Manufacturing in Dallas.
She was a member of St. Luke's Reformation Lutheran Church, Noxen.
Mrs. Turner had no children and treated her nieces and nephews as her own. She was the last of the family patriarchs. She was a lover of dogs and especially loved her pug "Heidi" who was her constant companion. All who knew her, loved her and she will be forever missed. Florence's health was failing in the last few years but as a believer, she knew she was going to a better place.
Her loving husband, Russell J. Turner died in 1993. She was also preceded in death by sisters: Frances Kresge and Mildred Frantz and a brother, Herman DuBoice.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews as well as a devoted sister-in-law, Doris Mingus of Noxen..
Mrs. Turner's funeral will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Martin Everhart of St. Lukes's Reformation Lutheran Church officiating.
Interment will be in Dymond Section of Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 prior to the service on Monday.
