Obituary of Karen Carmel Dormio

Karen W. Dormio, age 75 of Sweet Valley, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Gardens at Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Dormio was born in Wilkes-Barre on September 11, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Vincent and Sylvia Hughes Owens. Karen graduated from Coughlin High School and received her bachelor's degree in social work from College Misercordia. She was employed as a social worker for Luzerne County Bureau for Aging. Karen enjoyed cooking and canning fruits and vegetables. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by son, Mitchell Wills, and sister, Sylvia Leonard. She is survived by sons, Barry Wills of Portland, OR and Wallace Wills and his wife Amy of Lincoln University, PA; daughter, Valerie Williams and her husband Mark of Sweet Valley; grandchildren, Erika, Stephen, Lindsey, Bethany, Amy, Ethan, and Meghan. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Arrangements are by the Curtis L.
