Obituary of James Reese

James T. Reese, 79, of Dallas died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
He was born in Nanticoke, January 23, 1938, and was the son of the late Thomas and Alice (Brace) Reese.
He was a graduate of Westmoreland High School, Class of 1956. He served in the Naval Reserve, enjoyed contra dancing, loved the years he played for his church softball team and was always making people laugh with his jokes and stories.
Jim was a member of Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville where he loved to volunteer working on building projects. He also volunteered for the Back Mountain Library Auction, Habitat for Humanity and Hillside Farms.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta E. Reese.
Surviving are his daughters, Laura Reese Slocum, Dallas; Kim Jacobs, Dallas; Tracey Reese, Kingston and Jennifer Reese Robinson, Shavertown. He has 6 grandchildren, Drew Slocum, Allentown; Alex Slocum, Boca Raton, FL; Kelly and Lindsey Jacobs, Dallas; Chase and Amelia Robinson, Shavertown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc. corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Dave Martin of the Cross Creek Community Church, officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Huntsville Cemetery, Shavertown.
