Obituary of Robert Dale

ROBERT DALE, 85 of Harvey's Lake passed away on Saturday April 15 at the Gardens of Wyoming Valley. Born in New Cannaan, CT, on June 25, 1931. "Buddy" to all who knew him, loved his wife of 65 years, his family and life. Buddy was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for more than 50 years. He was an integral part of the building of New York City including the World Trade Center and many other landmark buildings along with this son and brother. You can not think of Buddy without seeing the humanitarian that he was. He fought in Korea as part of the United States Army where he received several accommodations including the Bronze Star with the V for valor. After the military he was primarily an active operating engineer as well as caretaker for Zavalosa Farms in Ruggles. Buddy is preceded in death my his parents, two sisters, one brother and a grandson. Surviving are his wife Marilyn Brodsky Dale, a son Robert and daughter Randi. He also raised his grandson David. He had grandsons Robert and Richard and great-grandchildren Lexie, Damien, Mason, Emily, Gianna and Braxton. Please join the family in a celebration of Buddy's life! A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Friends may call from 4 – 6 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
