Obituary of Anthony Richard Bonomo

Anthony "Tony" Bonomo, age 68 of Lehman Township, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Celtic Hospice, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born March 9, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre, and was the son of the late Anthony W. and Helen Gajewski Bonomo. He graduated from Dallas High School in 1966 and served in the Army Reserves. Tony then continued to work in the family business known to many as "Bonomo's Bowling Alley and Skating Rink" with his brother, Rich. After that, he went onto run McAdoo Vending for many years, retiring from that business and spent the last few years working at Luzerne Conservation District. Tony loved riding motorcyles, hunting, fishing and flying model airplanes and helicopters. Back in the day, the bowling alley was the place to go. Tony left quite an impression on the people he grew up with, hung out with and came to know through the family business. Just mention " Tony" and someone would have a story about his fast cars, motorcycles, dances at Hansons' and let's not forget all the crazy things he and his buddies did. Tony is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 32 years, who were married on December 8, 1984, the former Pamela Kochanski; daughter: Lori Bonomo and her fiancé, Adam of Rockaway. NJ; brother: Richard and his wife, Lorelie of Pikes Creek; other family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 7 PM from the Sweet Valley Church of Christ, 5439 Main Road, Sweet Valley, PA 18656 with Pastor Richard Rexrode officiating. Friends may call at the church from 5 PM – 7 PM prior to the memorial service on Friday. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
