Obituary of Donald Robert Rice

Donald R. Rice, age 79 of Chase, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mr. Rice was born in Eaton Township on November 19, 1936 and was the son of the late Donald and Beatrice Wikoski Rice. Donald graduated from Tunkhannock High School and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was employed as a courier for Quest Diagnostics in Horsham for 14 years. Donald is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Jennie Radonavitch; sons, Donald Rice of Harveys Lake, Daniel Rice of Virginia and Douglas Rice and his wife Lori of Mechanicsburg; daughters, Donna Bonavina of Wilkes-Barre and Patti Mirra of Wilkes-Barre; brother, Lawrence Rice of Tunkhannock; grandchildren, Corissa, Christie, Aaron, Brittany, Courtney, Alexa, Zachary, Jamie, Daniel, Katie, Joseph, Nicole, Megan, and Sara; several great-grandchildren. As per Donald's request, funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Memorial contributions can be made to charity of the donor's choice.
