Obituary of Thomas Richard Masters, Sr.

Thomas R. Masters, Sr., age 77 of Sweet Valley, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016.
He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 19, 1939 and was the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Elizabeth Olmstead Masters.
Tom was a very skilled tradesman and gunsmith. He taught for over 22 years at Lincoln Technical Institute in New Jersey, where he was well recognized for his contributions. Tom was an avid hunter and loved joking with people and making them laugh. He was a very dedicated, passionate, generous and thoughtful person. Tom will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Gary Masters, formerly of Sweet Valley, daughter, Carol Masters and step-daughter, Bonnie Sinclair.
Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Judith Daling; daughters, Sherri Carpenter and her husband Howard of Ewing, NJ and Elizabeth Smith and her husband Edward of Sweet Valley; son, Thomas R. Masters, Jr. of New Albany; step-son, Steven Sinkoff and daughter-in-law, Lisa Portnoff of Cazenovia, NY; 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Charles Grube of the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, officiating.
Friends may call 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
