Obituary of Stephen John Schramko

Stephen John Schramko, age 73 of Sweet Valley, was called home to be home with his Lord on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mr. Schramko was born in Wilkes-Barre on January 15, 1942 and was the son of the late John Schramko and Ada Waltz Murdock. Stephen served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1966 and was employed as a high voltage electrician at the Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of the Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville. He was a loving father and grandfather. Stephen found much enjoyment as a ham radio operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Mary Lou Davis Schramko, brother, Larry Murdock and sister, Ann Marie Schramko. Stephen is survived by daughter, Dawn Yeager and her husband Neil of Hunlock Creek; brother, Ralph Murdock and his wife Michelle of Omaha, NE; sisters, Lorraine Krainz of Dallas and Gail Bray and her husband Charles of Mountaintop; grandchildren, Randy and Janie Yeager; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Dave Martin, Pastor Dan Brubaker, Pastor Bill Stritzinger and friend, Ted Healy, officiating. Friends may call Monday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Northmoreland Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Cross Creek Community Church, 370 Carverton Rd, Trucksville, PA 18708. The family would like to thank Erwine Home Health and Hospice and the Meadows Nursing Center for their professional, compassionate care and support.
