Obituary of William Thomas Clements

William Thomas Clements, age 84 of Sweet Valley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at home. Mr. Clements was born in Newark, NJ on April 1, 1931 and was the son of the late John and Helen McComas Clements. Bill lived in Mine Hill, NJ and Sweet Valley for most of his life. He loved traveling, playing the spoons, and spending time with his family. Bill was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict and continued his service to our country with 30 years of full time service in the New Jersey National Guard. He retired as a warrant officer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, John Clements, and sister, Eleanor Clements. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Leah Hackling; children, Stephen Clements of Virginia Beach, VA, Terrie Kelson of Tunkhannock, Timothy Clements of Madison, NJ, and Vickie Ide of Tunkhannock; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 4:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor James Pall of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church, officiating Friends may call from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St, Dunmore, PA 18512.
