Obituary of Esther Elizabeth Baer

Esther Elizabeth Baer, age 94 of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mrs. Baer was born in Lake Township on January 23, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Hervey and Gertrude Anderson May. Esther graduated from the former Laketon High School and was employed by Major's Antique Barn in Lehman as a carpet weaver. She was an accomplished painter, enjoyed gardening, and was an amazing baker. Esther was a member of the Loyalville United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, William Carl Baer, brother, George May, and sisters, Shirley Caputo, Glendora Anderson, and Kitty Daniels. Esther is survived by son, Thomas Baer and his wife Debbie of Dallas and William Baer of Dushore; daughters, Diane Miller and her husband Dave of Blanchard, PA and Cherie Montigney of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Mary King, Neva Kocher, Ethel Gryskiewicz, and Iris Weeks; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Carol Folk of the Loyalville United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Loyalville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St, Dunmore, PA 18510.
