Obituary of Barbara L. Jacoby

Barbara L. Jacoby, age 75 of Harveys Lake, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Celtic Hospice Healthcare Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Jacoby was born in Wilkes-Barre on February 24, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Kessler Florek. Barbara was raised by her late grandma Kessler at Harveys Lake. She was employed as a custodian at Lake-Lehman High School and retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 2005 as a toll collector. Barbara enjoyed riding with her husband Nathan on his motorcycle. She was a member of the Dallas Baptist Church and the Dallas American Legion Riders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters, Raedyne Kay Morgan and Mary Ann Higgins, and sisters, Margaret McMillan and Carol Sheffler. Barbara is survived by her husband of 48 years, Nathan "Buck" Jacoby; son, Charles Jacoby of Wilmington, DE; daughters, Dolores Coar and her husband Stanley of Tunkhannock, Peggy Babcock and her husband Rick of Tunkhannock, Deana Moulder of Dallas, and Arleen Jacoby of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, Rick Scully of Columbus, OH; sisters, Mary Ann Goble of Centermoreland and Leota Patton of Noxen; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Dallas Baptist Church, Highway 415 & Briar Crest, Dallas, PA 18612 with Pastor Gerald Branch, officiating. Friends may call Saturday 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Dallas Baptist Church, PO Box 5, Dallas, PA 18612.
