Obituary of Mary Patricia Fertal

Mary Patricia Fertal, age 90 of Dallas, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 surrounded by her family at the Celtic Hospice Healthcare Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre.
Mrs. Fertal was born in Larksville on April 1, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Rutkowski Eagen.
Mary graduated from Larksville High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for various companies including the former People's Laundry, the Dallas Finance Company, Earl Samuel Insurance Company in Dallas, L & L Supply Company in Wilkes-Barre, Hasting Brothers in Wyoming, and Westside Beverage in Exeter. As a devout Catholic, she was an active member of the Gate of Heaven Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary society. Mary was a hardworking and loving mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Francis Fertal and brother, Daniel Eagen.
Mary is survived by her son, Francis W. Fertal and his wife Katherine of Shavertown; daughters, Mary Alice McMillan of Feasterville and Karen Cornell and her husband Daniel of Pikes Creek; sister, Anna Chesnovitch of Dallas; grandchildren, Paul McMillan, Kelly Lange, and Sean Fertal; great-grandchildren, Paul James, Brendan, and Gavin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:30 am from the Mercy Center, 301 Lake St., Dallas, PA 18612 with her nephew, Monsignor John Bendik of the St. John The Evangelist Church, Pittston, officiating.
Friends may call 9:00 - 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the Mercy Center prior to the service.
Interment will be in the St. Ann's Cemetery, Lehman.
