Obituary of Ruth Jeanette Anthony

Ruth J. Anthony, age 87 of Harveys Lake, formerly of Iselin, NJ, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Anthony was born on July 27, 1927 in Woodbridge, NJ and was the daughter of the late Mary Miele. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took great pride in growing African Violets in her home. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by sister, Rose Bosko. Ruth is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Anthony; sons, James Anthony and his wife Betty of Edwardsville and George Anthony and his wife Terry of Harveys Lake; daughter, Gail Anthony of Harveys Lake; grandchildren, Robert, James, Steven, David, Rachel, Melissa, and Robyn; great-grandchildren, Ema and Alma. A prayer service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Deacon Tom Cesarini of the Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, officiating. Friends may call 1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, 63 North Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
