Obituary of William Eugene Gordon

William E. Gordon, age 68 of Pikes Creek, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Gordon was born in Kingston on September 20, 1946 and was the son of the late Olin and Beatrice Darrow Gordon. William graduated from Dallas High School in 1964. He was employed as a technician at Proctor and Gamble Paper Products in Mehoopany for 28 years, retiring in 1996. William was a member of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Shirley Derhammer. William is survived by his wife of 34 years, the former Autumn Dimmick; sons, Michael Cole and his wife Melissa, at home, and William Gordon, Jr. and his wife Christina Adamitz of Lake Silkworth; daughters, Stephanie Mayo and her husband Alan of Templeton, MA and Debbie Gordon of Gardner, MA; brothers, Gerald Gordon of Lovelton and Robert Gordon of Pikes Creek; sisters, Donna Blansett of Pikes Creek, Mildred Derhammer of Pikes Creek, Betty Jayne of Meshoppen, Janet Walsh of Pikes Creek, Margie Derhammer of Pikes Creek, and Carol Miskiel of Martinez, GA; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Richard Rexrode of the Sweet Valley Church of Christ, officiating. Friends may call 9:00 -11:00 AM on Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Celtic Hospice and Healthcare, 25 Church St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18765.
