Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Arellano

Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The beautiful soul of Jennifer Lynn Arellano, age 38 of Harveys Lake, left this earth to join the Lord after a 7 year battle with breast cancer on the morning of Saturday, November 15, 2014 at home. Mrs. Arellano was born in Wilkes-Barre on November 17, 1975 and was the daughter Irene Olexy Czachur and Peter Clarke. Jennifer attended West Side Technical School and Luzerne County Community College. She was known by all of her friends and family for always having a gentle heart and a bright outlook, even during the darkest times amidst her illness. Her bright energy and positive life loving attitude was contagious and her kindness was never wavering. She was a dedicated loving mother to her two children Sami and Cody Matello, who she loved with all of her heart. They were the light of her life and would often leave them heartfelt notes for them to brighten their day. Jen was married to her best friend and the love of her life Scott Arellano for 16 years. Scott spent his days with Jen keeping her spirits high and the warmth in her heart. His undying love kept the fight in her strong. Jennifer was loved by so many, and has touched many lives during her time here with us. "For it matter not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash, It matters most how we live and love, and how we spend our dash." Jennifer is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ruth Clarke and Eleanor Tagnani. In addition to her husband, parents, and children, she is survived by brother, Richard and his wife Yvonne Tagnani; step-daughter, Kylie; grandchildren, Kira Matello, Mia Saypack, and Lydia Huegan; grandfather, Richard Tagnani; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; her four legged best friend, Sweetie, who will forever miss her. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 12:00 pm from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Rob Kifer of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Greenwald and his staff for their care of Jen through the years. Also, a special thanks to all of her friends, family, and prayer warriors, who helped keep Jen strong over the years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation to be made to the Medical Oncology Prescription Assistance Fund, 382 Pierce St., Kingston, PA 18704.
