Obituary of Hobart Stanton Austin

"Bud" Hobart Stanton Austin, Jr., age 83 of Hunlock Creek, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Austin was born in Wilkes-Barre on April 9, 1931 and was the son of the late Hobart, Sr.and Susan Dodson Austin. Bud was a member of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, Hunlock Creek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Betty Jane Hall and a grandson, Benjamin "Benny" Austin. Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Beverly Lorraine Adams; daughter, Susan E. Kliamovich and her husband George of Sweet Valley; son, Hobart S. Austin, III and his wife Kathi of Falls; brother, Ralph Darrell of Pond Hill; He was Pop, Poppa, Homer, and Old Homer to his 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, Hunlock Creek, with Pastor Dan Brubaker officiating. Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, 328 Prichards Road, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621.
