Obituary of Lloyd Thomas Naugle

Lloyd Thomas Naugle, one of twins, age 85 of Pikes Creek, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mr. Naugle was born in Pikes Creek on September 14, 1929 and was the son of the late William Harvey and Mildred Sayre Naugle. Lloyd graduated from Lehman High School in 1949 and served in the US Army from 1951-1953 as a corporal. He was a member of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church since 1988. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed as a truck driver for Truck Driver Roadway Express for 25 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed baseball, football, and going to his grandchildren's games. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Bradley Naugle and grandson, Tommy Kittle. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Gloris Steltz; sons, Gary Naugle of Shavertown, Lloyd Naugle, Jr. and his wife Darlene of Pikes Creek, and Brian Naugle and his wife Estella of Hunlock Creek; daughters, Brenda Naugle of Bear Creek, Christine Perkoski of Dallas, and Judy Kittle of Nanticoke; brothers, Lewis Naugle, William Naugle, Jr. and Jerry Naugle; sisters, Betty Remely, Alice Kuczawa, and Doris Gordon; 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Dan Brubaker of the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Co. and Ambulance Association, PO Box 207 Sweet Valley, PA 18656.
