Obituary of Betty Jean Myers

Betty Jean Myers, age 90 of Sweet Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Myers was born in Jefferson County on April 30, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Blair and Mable Yount Plyler. Betty graduated from Ford City High School. She was a member of the Community Bible Church of Sweet Valley. She was an loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and dedicated her life to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Myers who passed away in 2010 and brothers, Ralph and Jack Plyler. Betty is survived by sons; John R. Myers and his wife, Dale, of Ashburn, VA, Robert D. Myers and his wife, Judith, of Lake Silkworth: daughter; Carolyn S. Kraintz and her husband, Joseph, of Moline, IL: grandchildren; John Myers, Sarah Alexander, Nathanael and Joshua Kraintz, Kaitlyn Morris, Robert B., Ashley and Sydney Myers: great grandchildren; John P. and Elizabeth Myers, Ethan Potts, Jimmy L. Alexander II, Thomas J., Caleb J., and Olivia Grace Kraintz. Friends may call 2-4 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 at 11:30 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Timothy V. Cappucci of the Community Bible Church of Sweet Valley, officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek.
