Obituary of Joseph Francis Rish

Joseph "Pete" Rish, age 69 of Lehman, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 13, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Pete was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 24, 1945 and was the son of the late Joseph and Anne Dubil Rish. He graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1963 and served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam Era. He was employed for 35 years with the Laborer's Union, Local 215. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Rish. Pete is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Patricia Doris; daughters, Donna Martin and her husband DJ of Falls, Patti Rish and her significant other Jim Doughan of Wayne, PA, and Pamela Rish of Falls; grandchildren, Taylor Rish and Emily Martin. A prayer service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 9:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Richard Fox of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating. Friends may call 9:30 am - 11:30 am, following the service on Saturday.
