Robert "Red" Marr, age 83 of Dallas, passed Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mr. Marr was born in Hunlock Creek on October 4, 1930 and was the son of the late Milton and Musetta Cease Marr. Robert graduated from the former Harter High School, West Nanticoke in 1949 and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He received his Bachelor's Degree in education from Wilkes University and was employed as a Math Teacher at Dallas High School for 30 years. Red was a member of the Huntsville Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 763, Kingston, Irem Temple Shrine, VFW, Harveys Lake American Legion, Antique Car Association of Pennsylvania at Hershey, PASR, and PSEA. Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by brothers, Olin and Hendrick Marr, and sisters, Virginia Schroyer and Jean Bean. Robert is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Marlyn James; daughters, Debra Beidleman and her husband Mark of Red Oak, TX, and Pamela Laundrie and her husband Andrew of Brooklyn, WI; sister, Lois Walk of Mountaintop; grandchildren, Megan Beidleman and Caylan Laundrie. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Ronald Cease, of the Valley View Union Chapel, officiating. Friends may call from Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607
