Josephine Marie Bean Obituary

Mrs. Josephine Marie Bean, age 100, of Noxen, passed away on July 12, 2014 at the Mercy Center in Dallas, PA.





Josephine was born in Olean, NY on March 11, 1914 the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine Ellman.





Josephine resided in Noxen most of her life, where she raised four children and was active in community activities. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and was an excellent cook winning several awards for her cakes.





In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Elvin Thomas Bean, Sr, her son Elvin Thomas Bean, Jr and her brother Michael Ellman.





Josephine is survived by her children, Janet Kaminstein of Concord, MA; Nancy Kerns of Harveys Lake, PA and Michael Bean of Noxen, PA; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.





A private family funeral was held on July 15, 2014 at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Pikes Creek, followed by internment at Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Noxen.
