Obituary of Carol Jean Koupinas

Carol Jean Koupinas, age 72 of Sweet Valley, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mrs. Koupinas was born in Harveys Lake on September 1, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Norma Garinger Taylor. Carol was employed as a truck driver for Shelley's Trucking and also as a bus driver for Lake-Lehman School District. She was a member of God's Missionary Church in Jackson. She enjoyed to hunt, garden, play video games with her grandchildren and was an avid bird watcher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Koupinas who passed away in 2002 and brother, Ralph Taylor. She is survived by daughters, Rita Sanders of Kingston, Anne Neaus and her husband Barry of Berwick, and Rose Karasek and her husband Leonard of Sweet Valley; sister, Shirley Moku of Sweet Valley; grandchildren, Ted, Shawn, Cody, Andrew, and Mitchell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Joel Mitchell of the Noxen Bible Baptist Church and Pastor Warren Major of God's Missionary Church, Jackson Township, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the Lehman Center Cemetery.
