Obituary of Evelyn Pearl Seward

Evelyn Pearl Seward, age 95 of Dallas, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. Mrs. Seward was born in Edwardsville on November 14, 1918 and was the daughter of the late William and Anna Knectht Compton. Evelyn was a member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church in Centermoreland and lived in Dallas since 8 years old. She loved and enjoyed baking for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Seward who passed away in 1990, and brother, Melvyn Compton and his wife Eunice. Evelyn is survived by children, Charles Seward and his wife Irma of Noxen, James Seward and his wife Irene of Beaumont, Larry Seward and his wife Susan of Dallas, and Donna Konopka and her husband Larry of Glastonbury, CT; grandchildren, Randy, Mark, Kimberly, Brian, Kathy, Bradley, Jennifer, Jason, Jill, Jamie, and Keri; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. Kurt Seboe of the Northmoreland Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call 9:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Memorial Shrine Park, Franklin Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Northmoreland Baptist Church, 21 Ripple Brook Rd., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
