Obituary of Lois Tressa Rought

Lois Tressa Rought, age 97 of Falls, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Mrs. Rought was born in Centermoreland on October 22, 1916 and was the daughter of the late William and Tressa Stocker Race.
Ever since she was a teenage girl, Lois attended the Northmoreland Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years at Bendix Allied Co. in South Montrose. Lois loved the simple life & enjoyed camping with family and friends. She spent countless days with her Amish friends, staying in her "little house" in the Lancaster area. A very fond memory for all of her family was her "Christmas Morning Breakfast".
Known as "Ma" to her children, and "Granny" to her grandchildren, she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Lois enjoyed 42 years of marriage to her beloved husband, the late Harold Rought, who passed away in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a brother Clark, son Kenneth, and great granddaughter, Rachel Rowlands.
Surviving are children, Donald Rought and his wife Gloria, Gail Quick and her husband Floyd, Bill Rought and his wife Helen; daughter in law, Harriet; 11 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter. She also leaves behind several life long friends, and many Amish friends whom she considered family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Northmoreland Baptist Church, with ,Pastor Kurt Seboe, and Pastor James Howell, officiating.
Interment will be in the Fitch Cemetery, Northmoreland Township.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 6:00PM - 9:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Northmoreland Baptist Church, 21 Ripple Brook Rd, Centermoreland, PA 18657.
