Obituary of Stanley David Sims

Stanley Sims, age 63, of Harveys Lake, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday April 17, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Larksville on May 3, 1950 and was the son of the late John and Muriel Sims.
Stan moved to Harveys Lake in the 70's where he and his wife raised five children. He loved to hunt and fish with his boys and then his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Harveys Lake American Legion for over 14 years where he was fully involved with the kids fishing derby. Stanley was a man with a heart as big as he was and would do anything he could for anyone who asked.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph.
Stanley and his wife, the former Marge Maceinas celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on December 13th. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons; Stanley Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Shavertown, Johnny of Larksville, and Robert of Harveys Lake; daughters: Donna Roman of Kingston, and Kimberly and her husband Joe of Harveys Lake; sister: Ann Marie and her husband, Chuck of Pringle; brother: Walter and his wife Cathy of Shickshinny; 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his canine babies Tyson, Missy, and Pita,
Stan's family would like to send a special thank you to the Harveys Lake and Idetown Fire Departments.
He will be missed by all who knew him. May you rest In peace, love, until we are all together again.
Stan's Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 8:00 PM from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Raymond D. Purdy of the Living Word Baptist Church, Fairmount Township, officiating.
