Irving Calvin King, age 91 of Dallas, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at the St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. King was born March 7, 1922 in Lake Township where he resided most of his life and was the son of the late William and Ida Mae McNeal King.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Whitesell Brothers Construction in Dallas for 33 years. Irving served in the India-Burma Campaign in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John and Victor King, and sister, Frances Schooley.
Irving is survived by sons, Lee King of Kingston, and William King of Lake Silkworth; daughter, Joanne Kapral of Pringle; sister, Evaline King of Luzerne; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas, with Deacon Patrick Massino, Chaplin of the Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.
