Obituary of Regina Ann Powell

Regina Ann Powell, age 78 of Dallas, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at home, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Powell was born in Dallas on April 15, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Martin Sedler. She was an avid gardener and dedicated her life to her family and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Gate of Heaven Church in Dallas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Powell, sister, Irene Major, and brother, Michael Sedler, Jr. Regina is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Powell of Dallas and Alison Powell Evans of Dallas; son, Thomas Powell of Weatherly; grandchildren, Joseph Evans of Wilmington, DE, Arielle Powell of Weatherly, and Matthew Sipler of Weatherly. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 9:30 am from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corners of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am from the Gate of Heaven Church, with the Rev. Daniel Toomey officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. A special thank you is given to Dr. William Boyle and staff, Forty Fort, for their dedicated care and attention given to their mother. The family requests memorial donations to be made to the Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, PA 18612.
